You Know You're a Teacher When...linky party

Jeannie over at Kindergarten Lifestyle had a fabulous idea to host a linky party where we all finish the sentence starter "You Know You're a Teacher When..." and here's mine:

Everyone knows that when I give a gift, it's going to have an educational spin to it. At a recent baby shower, one of my gifts to a former colleague was a book box filled with hardcover books (her son's very first book box). I make encourage my niece to write me a story in her journal every time she visits me. I have even dragged taken my niece with me on author visits at the local bookstore. Once you become a teacher, you just can't escape the teacherisms that make us who we are!

How would you finish "You Know You're a Teacher When..."?

    1. Hi, Lucia. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that everyone expects the educational gifts from me...lol...but I always buy something that I know they will use (plus I make sure to throw something fun in there, too).

  3. And then when your kids grow up, you can take the toy in to your class!

    1. Hi, Dee. Thank you for following :) I am your newest follower as well. My daughter has "donated" (or maybe gave up unknowingly), most of the items in my treasure chest over the years. Now that she's in college, I'm onto my niece's collection...

  4. Yep, yep... it has to be educational. I found chocolate letters for valentines day. Can you guess what my kids are getting? Thank you for sharing these.

    1. Hi, Misty. Once you become a teacher, it almost becomes your mission to "educate" everyone around you as much as you can - lol. Oooh, chocolate letters...you're lucky I'm not next door...or you would be missing an "M" and a "T"...ha :)
